WAYS PUNKROCK SINCE 2020
Founded in late 2019 or early 2020, WAYS quickly took off when Riza (Pure Breed, First Things First) approached Remco (Said and Done, Noise Pollution) to collaborate on a project that he had in mind.
By combining Remco’s songs with Riza's lyrics, they soon had more than 10 songs on the shelf and recordings in prospect.
To enhance their sound and allow Remco to focus more on vocals, they began searching for a second guitarist. In 2021, a mutual friend introduced them to Micha (Facing Down, The Minority, The Unsinkable). Enthusiastic about the material, Micha brought fresh ideas that helped define the distinct sound of WAYS.
Over time, WAYS went through some changes in the drum lineup. Chris (Whiskey Out of My Nose, Tearless) was the first to take on the role, followed by Ludwig (Under My Boots, Tempter). After Ludwig's departure, the band decided to take a step back for a while.
Now, after a period of being relatively quiet, WAYS is ready to pick things up again. The band welcomes Joost behind the drums. Some may know him from his work with Said and Done, Dick Perry, Sleeper and Tankstation. As a longtime friend and fellow musician, Joost joins WAYS for their next chapter and brings new energy to the band.
With the lineup complete once again, WAYS returns with their signature blend of punk rock and harmonies, drawing inspiration from the iconic bands of the 90s. Their lyrics tackle societal critiques and delve into philosophical themes, while fans of Bad Religion, No Use For A Name, Pennywise and Millencolin will feel right at home. WAYS is ready to turn the page and bring their music back to the stage.
